Old Fashioned Lasagna
What you’ll need
- 2 cups onion, carrot and celery, diced
- 1 lb extra lean ground beef
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cups fresh plum tomatoes, diced
- OLIVIERI® Classic Marinara 600 ml
- OLIVIERI® Lasagna Sheets 360 g
- 2 cups ricotta cheese
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Directions
- PREHEAT oven to 375°F
- SAUTÉ veggies until tender (3- 4 minutes) and brown ground beef (5- 6 minutes) in hot oil.
- COMBINE tomatoes, OLIVIERI® Classic Marinara and meat mixture. Simmer 5 minutes.
- SPREAD a generous helping of sauce onto the bottom of a 9” x 13” pan, lightly greased. Set aside 1 cup of sauce.
- LAYER OLIVIERI® Lasagna Sheets (cut them if you need to), sauce and ricotta cheese. Repeat layering.
- TOP with remaining sauce, mozzarella and fresh Parmesan cheese (cause you can never have too much cheese).
- COVER with foil and bake for 30 to 45 minutes.
- REMOVE foil and bake for another 10 minutes. Let stand for 5 minutes.
- SERVE with a generous number of napkins.
