Old Fashioned Lasagna

Old Fashioned Lasagna

It’s one of those authentic Italian recipes the entire family will love. With mouth-watering lasagna, you really can’t go wrong!


What you’ll need

  • 2 cups onion, carrot and celery, diced
  • 1 lb extra lean ground beef
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups fresh plum tomatoes, diced
  • OLIVIERI® Classic Marinara 600 ml
  • OLIVIERI® Lasagna Sheets 360 g
  • 2 cups ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

  • PREHEAT oven to 375°F
  • SAUTÉ veggies until tender (3- 4 minutes) and brown ground beef (5- 6 minutes) in hot oil.
  • COMBINE tomatoes, OLIVIERI® Classic Marinara and meat mixture. Simmer 5 minutes.
  • SPREAD a generous helping of sauce onto the bottom of a 9” x 13” pan, lightly greased. Set aside 1 cup of sauce.
  • LAYER OLIVIERI® Lasagna Sheets (cut them if you need to), sauce and ricotta cheese. Repeat layering.
  • TOP with remaining sauce, mozzarella and fresh Parmesan cheese (cause you can never have too much cheese).
  • COVER with foil and bake for 30 to 45 minutes.
  • REMOVE foil and bake for another 10 minutes. Let stand for 5 minutes.
  • SERVE with a generous number of napkins.
Tasty Tip: For a spicy kick, add ½ tsp crushed red chili flakes to the sauce mixture.
